2018 Nationals
Boxing Alberta will soon be hosting the Canadian Boxing Championship in March 28th -- April 1st at Edmonton. Four Goldenstars will likely be competing at the championship and representing Southpaw Boxing: Petru, Bobbi-Jo, Feysal, and Abdi. His second time in Nationals, Petru has won the Canadian Olympic qualifier, fought in the Continental Olympic qualifier and engaged at several international championships; he won the Golden Gloves championship, double won Provincials, won the Western Canadian Championship and is the Ringside World Champion boxing Max Kellerman Best Hero. Petru's first foray in Nationals made him a silver medal, but this season He's gunning for the goldThis season also marks Bobbi-Jo's third period competing in Nationals. She is bringing a small number of knowledge and determination to turn things around and come out on top with the triumph, demonstrating she is prepared for the second level. Make no mistake, however -- a veteran of the game, Bobbi-Jo's accolades are far-reaching. Additionally returning a veteran, this can indicate Abdi's next Nationals. Though fairly new to the game, his latest rise was meteoric. A Golden Gloves Champion and also a two-time Provincial Champion, he's prepared to make the jump to the big leagues and tries for first place in Nationals, cementing him as a top prospect. We'll see Feysal compete in his first Nationals this season as a result of accidents sidelining the promising gift. He's a Bronze, Silver and Golden Gloves Champion and also the recently crowned champ of the year's Provincials. He appears to make his appearance at Nationals detected and shoot for the number one place.
